Meeting Minutes

APRIL GENERAL MEETING MINUTES

April 1, 2025 

President David Notheis called the meeting to order.

He thanked everyone for attending the 8th meeting of the 2024-2025 ASPE year.

He then asked if there were any new/transfer members in attendance, there were none.  When he asked if there were any first-time attendees present, Clark Thompson with Absolute Water and Austin Basler with PM Associates both introduced themselves.

David then asked for self-introductions from all attendees.  And while this was happening, he directed people to start going through the food line.

President’s Report

David Notheis had the following to report –

·         The billings for advertising should be coming out soon.  Also, the Sponsorship Package should be out soon.

o   Kevin Pate advised that advertising invoices will go out this month

o   Crystal Kramer mentioned that the Sponsorship Package is in the newsletter and on the website

·         Chicago plumbing show was a great event, and he highly recommends attending it next year if you can.  He did not see anyone from St. Louis there; he will be going back next year.

·         Chapter Elections are next month – Mitch will be running for President, Crystal will be running for VP-Technical, David will be running for Treasurer and Trace Laux has expressed interest in VP-Legislative.  If anyone is interested in running for a position, let David know, we will be looking for a Newsletter Editor.

·         Our golf outing is scheduled for July 14th, so mark your calendars; he is still waiting for confirmation from the golf course

·         12 Birthdays this month

·         10 Anniversaries this month

·         As a reminder, please make sure that you have filled out the sign-in sheet, especially if you are looking for CEU, PDH, or PEU credit; if you are a visitor or non-member, please make sure to provide your email address; finally, if you need STLCO credit, make sure to put down your license number

·         The minutes from the March meeting are on the website and in the newsletter, to save time, we no longer read them at the meeting.

MOTION:  To approve the March General Meeting Minutes.          APPROVED.

Vice-President Legislative’s Report

Crystal Kramer had nothing new to report –

Vice-President Membership’s Report

JJ Nagel had the following to report –

·         Chapter currently has 136 members, all time high, Thank You!

·         2 new members –

o   William Haupert with Armstrong Plumbing Corporation

o   James Crause with Powerex, Inc.

Treasurer’s Report

Kevin Pate had the following to report –

·         He will get the advertising invoices out soon

·         Golf outing information will be on the website soon

·         Chapter is financially sound – if you have any questions, or want to see anything, reach out to him and set up an appointment

Newsletter Editor’s Report

Crystal Kramer had the following to report –

·         Please update your line card if it needs to be, hopefully updating this weekend

·         If you need to place an advertisement, get the info soon

Website Editor

David Notheis introduced our new Website Editor, Alex Howard, Haberberger.  He is looking forward to seeing what he can do to help us out.

Education Chairman’s Report

Nicholas Hipp is on maternity leave, there is no report.

Social Media Report

Elizabeth Peters had the following to report –

·        Make sure to follow us on LinkedIn

·        She is getting stuff posted – this month’s member focus is on Logan Carter

Affiliate Liaison’s Report

Angie Mendica was not at the meeting.

ASPE Young Professionals (AYP) Report

Tyler Rhoads had the following to report –

·        They recently had a joint happy hour with the MCA group; had about 20 people turn out 

Women of ASPE (WOA) Report

Logan Carter was not at the meeting.

Board of Governors’ Report

Jack Fischer had nothing new to report.

Vice-President Technical’s Report

Mitch Spillman had the following to report –

·        He introduced today’s presenter – Candice Pranckh, Channel Manager at Nexa a subsidiary of Watts Water Technologies; she had some travel issues, so she will be doing a virtual presentation on “Intelligent Water Management”

JACKPOT WINNER:

Drawing was for $10; first name drawn was Robert Water, he was not present; next name was Matthew Crown and he was not present; finally, William Greene’s name was drawn, and he was not present.  Next month’s drawing will be for $20.

Notes / Reminders

·        Please remember that to get adequate food for our meetings we need to have your reservations in by Friday, a week before the meeting.  Any later than that and there is no guarantee there will be enough food.  It’s as easy as simply replying to the meeting announcement that is sent to all.

·        Next meeting will be on May 6th at Syberg’s on Dorsett
